When your pet is sick, or something is a little off, it may be difficult to notice the subtle signs. No one wants to see their pet feeling unwell, so the quicker you notice your pet’s symptoms, the quicker you can get them the care that they need. Our blog is here to help you identify 5 common signs of illness in your feline. To learn more, keep on reading!

Subtle Signs To Look Out For

Every cat is different, and you know your pet the best. If you sense another change in their behaviour, take them to the vet to check if everything’s okay. These are some common signs that your feline isn’t doing so well.

Eating & Drinking

You may notice changes in your cat’s diet and how much they are drinking. If they are eating an unusually small amount, or are not interested in food, this could be a cause for concern. If your cat hasn’t eaten in 24 hours, it would be a good idea to seek veterinary services

Energy Levels

You may notice that your cat is feeling especially lethargic, and doesn't want to play or move. If this is unusual for your cat, it might indicate that something is wrong. Additionally, if they’re sleeping a lot more than usual, this may be because something isn’t quite right.

Litter Box

Be sure to check your cat’s litter tray. If you notice anything unusual like blood, or your cat is avoiding using the litter tray, this could be their way of telling you that something is wrong. Pay close attention to their habits if you suspect they are not feeling great.

Their Mood

You may be able to sense how your cat is doing just from their mood. If you notice drastic changes in their mood and energy, this can be a clear indication of a health problem or something that is bothering them.

Vomiting Or Diarrhoea

Vomiting and diarrhoea are telltale signs of an illness or something that is upsetting your feline. It could be something minor that they’ve eaten, but in case it’s a more serious issue it is always best to seek out professional medical advice!
